It hasn’t exactly been the coldest of winters so far in London, in fact it’s quite the opposite and it’s been mild all the way through December. But as usual January brings with it a bitter chill, and so I can’t help but try to wrap up and block out the cold. That’s what this outfit is all about: an attempt to stay warm without hiding the essence of the outfit under bundles of layers and scarves. Continue reading

Ice skating at Somerset House
It’s officially less than a week until Christmas and so I am officially overflowing with cheer, excitement, and mulled wine… I’ve surprisingly become more excitable over Christmas as I’ve got older, but this has nothing to do with the presents that “Father Christmas” will bring me. It’s because along with the exuberant decorations and guilt-free food, Christmas brings so many different opportunities to spend time with friends and other loved ones. And that’s exactly what this post is about: a magical day with my favourite person. Continue reading
Alpe D’Huez
When I came to Bristol I promised myself that I would go on a university ski trip before I graduate. Well, in October I realised that two years later I still hadn’t been on one, so I booked onto Alpe D’Huez 2015! With my dissertation deadline looming and exams on the way, do I regret taking the week off to escape to the slopes? Not. At. All.
I’d been skiing only four times before last week so I don’t consider myself an expert at all. I’d call myself ‘intermediate’ at a push. As long as you can get down the mountain it’s okay, right? But this trip was about so much more than skiing. Of course, it’s the reason we’re all there, but it was the most sociable week I have had of my entire three years in Bristol. Late nights, early mornings and a daily dose of aprés-ski, I was well and truly exhausted by the time I arrived home, but it felt like an entire year of uni rolled into one. If you’ve been skiing, you know what it’s all about. If you haven’t, nothing I can say can convey the feeling of gliding (or rolling) down a mountain! So I thought I’d save us all the time and just share a few of my photos of my incredible week instead.

Leather and fur
A break from Bristol’s disgusting wind and rain this weekend meant I could go out and take some photos with my housemate, Saw, a french Architecture student from Paris. One of our housemates sadly moved out last term which meant we had a vacancy, but given the circumstances we were lucky with her replacement! Saw spotted this incredible Land Rover parked in Clifton and, being enviably creative, used her initiative to have it as the background to this outfit post.
Spring is finally springing which meant I could go out in a leather jacket without oodles of layers underneath it, just this dainty shift dress. I also got to test out a combo that I am always admiring on other people: fur and leather! Pairing these two luxurious materials together works oh so well. I can’t wait for days like this to be a regular occurrence so I can wander around in Clifton to my heart’s content! I hope you’re all having lovely weekends.

Lazy weekends
I had a wonderfully lazy weekend with a family friend who was visiting me in Bristol – we had a great night out on Friday, and spent the rest of her visit chilling out and eating as much food as we could muster! It was divine. I know that work is going to start building up from now on with just over three months left of my degree. It’s going to be back to the library this week, which is going to seriously limit my daily outfit inspiration. But on the plus side in about a month it’ll start getting warmer, so I won’t have to hide under layers and layers of coats and scarves everyday! Although I will find it hard to part with my navy fur…
